If people are forming their views on the subject of education and Ph.D's from a satirical YouTube video they probably deserve everything they get.

I find these humorous, but I wanted to say this to people who say this discourages them: What to take away from this video series: If you are an average college student (Getting As in all of your shitty general education classes that you probably could have passed in high school doesn't constitute average) then grad school is a bad idea. If you actually excel in academics and pursue your education with the proper plan, you can ensure the path that you take is one that will impress any employer.

That just proves that it depends on the person rather than degree. Its all about what you do with the degree. Learn political science.....do government jobs (take civil service test). learn economics....work for a bank....learn sociology...do social services. study psychology....work for a hospital or be a counselor...learn history= work for a museum or department of state. learn philosophy.....teach or work for any business.

In median, philosophy majors make as much as a chemist.

Hard sciences are natural sciences. Soft sciences are things like political science.

What's the job market like for becoming president? One job opening every 4 years, plus you have to be very wealthy and successful in the first place in order to run for president (much of the time inherited wealth). Jobs in politics are scarce, and people with humanities degrees are very abundant.

Barack Obama - BA, Political Science

George W. Bush - BA, History

Bill Clinton - BS, Foreign Service

George HW Bush - BA, Economics

Ronald Reagan - BA, Sociology and Economics

Yea I guess those humanities/social science degrees really hurt these guys' chances of success...
