This is part of a small series on backpacking to show how I have set myself up to maybe give you some ideas of what to do (or what not to do).

  • Nice video! I wonder if you could use pantyhose instead of cheesecloth- the weave seems smaller.

  • @thatbiologygirl great point. plus nylon would probably hold up much better than cotton. I've got an extended hike coming up and I will definitely be using that. And I bet that pantyhose would end up having multiple purposes.

  • you are wrong about pots you can get titenam it is very good but steel is rubbish you can get hard anadised allamunum that what the jet boil is made out

  • @dbw16d a little late with my reply. You're right; anodized aluminum is definitely a good choice. I have only used regular aluminum cookware in the past, I was probably thinking of the teflon coating.

  • @thatbiologygirl Not only that, but if you're all alone in the wilderness, and you have pantyhose, you could always stuff them with leaves and put them next to yourself to feel less lonely. It's always good to have things that serve multiple purposes.

  • You're fine with the bleach... The EPA recommends it as a way to purify during an emergency or survival situation.

  • @piratesofsubspace can you lend me 10grand?

  • @solvealways good point about the bleach, before watermakers were common almost all long distace sailboats used bleach in there water tanks, i would just add make sure you use unscented bleach with about a five to six percent clorine content. am not sure about the ratio you recommend but the water in boats has to last longer and they almost all have a way to filter the water before it reaches the tap.

  • nice vid man 5 stars
