  • The Spanish victory under the brilliant command of General Bernardo De Galvez at the Battle of Pensacola was one of the most important battles of the American Revolution. It prevented the British from attacking the American colonists from western and southern fronts onto the thirteen colonies. Unfortunately, many people don't know about the outstanding contributions that Spain provided to France and the American colonies during the Revolutionary War.

    Agree!

  • I wonder, weren't there also American Militia at the battle fighting with spanish and French. I know there was American Militia at Mobile with the Spanish.

  • To the best of my knowledge there were no American Militia, although there were seven American volunteers in Galvez's army in 1779 in Manchae, LA. Perhaps others may know.
