True about Winston. In both the movie and cartoon, he seemed to be the voice of reason, he aired on the side of common sense while the others were either too "intellectual" or to sarcastic, lol!

winston actually gets way more screen time in the cartoons then the movies.....but then again any true ghosthead would know that Ernie Hudson acutally auditioned for his part in the cartoon..and lost out to arsinio hall

This was rather cool, Winston always had common sense in both the cartoon and film. He also is a good counterbalance to all the technical aspects of Egon/Ray, and a good compliment to Peter's sense of humor.
