The Reel to Reel Tape Recorder - a 2 DVD set from Phantom Productions, Inc.

Phantom Productions, Inc. Austin, Texas has produced a 2 DVD set profiling the Reel2ReelTexas vintage tape recorder collection. This is an educational DVD set that includes segments on the history of sound recording and one on how the tape recorder works. There are 133 tape recorders (which equal 253 electric motors) in the collection. We demonstrate how most of the recorders work, when they were manufactured and how much they originally cost. Also included are segments documenting Phantom on-location recording work around the State of Texas in the 1960's through the 1980's. DVD set includes the Ampex 200 and 300 reel tape recorders
