BOB AULT providing a great performance of Blind Boone's "Camp Meeting Medley no 1", a superb rag Boone recorded on piano roll in 1912! Legendary pianist Thomas A. Dorsey, father of Gospel music, and composer of "It's Tight Like That" and several barrelhouse hits, remembered Blind Boone, whom he knew personally, as a pioneer ragtime pianist of the 1890s.

I took this video at the Concert on Sunday during the Blind Boone Ragtime & Early Jazz Festival, in Columbia, Missouri.

Drop in on the website above for festival information.

I WISH YOU COULD HAVE BEEN THERE!
