After he pushes d4 with his pawn, attacking your bishop (around 3:15 in the video), why do you not take the pawn? It seems like that at least preserves your queenside pawn structure.

@Treewstx I think at the time I was just thinking that if my pawns are going to be as ugly as this, I had better come out a pawn ahead at least for the moment.

Hey man I really enjoy that you show terrible games like this because for us non grandmasters they really are a reality that we encounter now and again. After he played d5 I think you should have played kf3 and then after he plays d4 you played bishop to d2. That keeps all your pawns and everything together and allows you to potentially develop your white bishop to g2.

I really want to play you some games I am rated 1900 standard, but people tell me I am actually rated much higher. FICS!! :)

In the end game phase... The reason you didn't take the pawn was why? :( Was it so the rook and bishop won't connect in attacking the king? Thanks in advance! -Kevin =)

@kevinhdo90 The reason: time. I wasn't thinking about making good moves. I was premoving...already moving before he moved.

Hey Jerry do you think playing blitz games are a positive way for a beginner to improve their chess? or are they more for masters who have already spent years learning and can think quicker and just see better moves through experience?

Wouldn't have it been better if at minute 3:18 you had played bishop takes d4? Your pawn structure would have have been so bad.

after he pushes d5 at around 1:40 in the video, why not Be5 with Nf3 in mind for the next move? if he takes the knight, exf3 and then Be2 and you might be able to start a pawn storm using your doubled f-pawns. if he doesn't go Bxf3 then you would just push e3 and develop the bishop normally.

@ChessNetwork you would have still come out ahead on a pawn if you would have eaten his pawn at d4 then he eats your bishop at d4 then you eat his bishop at g4 given you a pawn a bishop vs his bishop and keeping your pawn structure . unless im seeing something wrong here
