Great video, and beautiful finished project! I'm going to be adding one to my house in the spring, and this kit looks perfect. I've already built a 3/4 bath and walk-in closet in the basement room, and this is my last step. Thanks for uploading!

Wouldn't it be REALLY easy for a burglar to enter your home from there? Are there any locking components other than the two on the window?

@Fluffy65 - Thanks so much! I'm glad this was helpful. It sounds like your basement is coming together and will be quite the nice place to stay (and also worth more :-D ). Good luck completing the project!

@NeverMalicious Yes and no. You are correct, in that an open egress window well might afford a burglar a hidden “cove” to break into and not be seen. Basement egress windows lock like any other home window but the glass can be broken. What you can do is install a security film on the inside of that window to make this extremely difficult. We can't protect against everything but a metal grate or bubble over the window will help ensure that it will be quite difficult for somebody to break in.
