  • Music for adults is still being performed? Amazing!

  • @Jitpring I know. Quite the surprise when you find that so ain't it! ;D

  • Ohhh.... so close, but so far. This is too sweet, too tender. Linda Thompson's vocal on the original is unbeatable, she captures the longing in the song perfectly.

  • @ZaBob I don't think Alison Krauss was attempting to imitate Linda Thompson. Naturally that means she gave it her own interpretation. :)

  • Who is playing bass in this video?

  • @billybobk2 His name is Danny Thompson. You can find all about his other work/career on Wikipedia! :)

  • Spell binding. I've listened to various versions but this is just top of the pile.

  • Like soaring high above the clouds wrapped in a warm blanket

  • the Linda Thompson version is more poignant, more fractured-there is perhaps more flexibility and subtlety in the Krauss voice, and the accompaniment especially Douglas dobro lends depth. Both are wonderful interpretations of the song. Thanks for this.

  • Fantastic voice keep singing

  • Awesome, just awesome

  • @paulbucksy and michael mcgoldrick on flute, and the legendary danny thompson on bass... it really doesn't get any better than this

  • alison's class. but do you see the man on the bazouki? thats donal lunny . irelands greatest modern song arranger. check out his stuff for top quality

  • I never thought that Alison could top 'Ghost in this house' but she has! I seem to have misplaced all my other cds. Sorry Emmy...

  • they are all amazing artists!!!! Beautiful rendition

  • @reddragonready

agreed! this is not meant to be a copy of Linda Thompson's version ... that's her version. this is Alison's version ... and as versions go, it's a bloody good one!

thank you for posting these things!!!

  • Only one thing wrong with this version....it's too good, further giving credence to the reason AK has 26 grammies to her name. Rock on.
