  • I was hoping this was another version of Orange´s Don Carlo but it is the same one I heard from another poster.

I will always love Montserrat. One of my favortie sopranos ever. But there´s something about her middle range that makes her sound flat sometimes. Maybe some disconnection or whatever it is because I felt it was on and off here too. I guess that´s why she didn´t sing the B flat pianissimo. Anyway, love her always! What a voice!

  • @Jenniferhos yes she does! Omits an entire sentence in a clip of "Si mi chiamano Mimi" on youtube. The sound is always gorgeous, though.

  • Maravillosa Montserrat!!!!! sin palabras para describir tanta emoción.

  • At this point no one can doubt about the quality of the voice of Montserrat Caballé, the most universal ofe the catalan sopranos of all times. A perfect voice, a magical crescendos that arrives to the depths of the soul. Brava! Bravissima! We love you, Montserrat.

  • Does she drop off some consonants to not get in the way of her legato?

  • She is fantastic! Thank's for the posting. To hear another fabulous interpretation, you might enjoy Virginia Zeani's.

Caballe and Zeani both have that luscious gloss to their voices.

    Brava, Caballe!
