The great Catalan soprano Victoria de los Angeles (1923-2005) in two 17th century French Baroque arias, coming from a recital in January 1960 (venue uncertain). She was accompanied by Paul Berl on the piano.

The two pieces featured here are namely:
(1) "Revenez amour, revenez" from Jean Baptiste Lully's Opéra Thésée

(2) Charmant papillon from André Campra's Opéra-ballet Les fêtes vénitiennes

  • Thank you for posting someone who can actually sing this song right. I was so tired of wrong notes and mispronunciations.

  • Has any other singer managed to combine such purity of tone with such a sensuous delivery. Wonderful singing.
