As a final modification to the PVC target stands I designed, I've drilled anchor points in sections of the base, so I can drive spikes into the ground (even hard, frozen ground) to keep those very light-weight targets from blowing over in the wind. No more digging up rocks and balancing them on the PVC base - this cheap and easy anchor solution finishes off a terrific target system, and will make your shooting excursions more fun and productive.

  • loose dirt better describes what i was referring to as softer stuff lol

  • @DUKnCVR2010 Oh, THAT kind of softer stuff... ;)

Yeah, that's why I got the longer spikes. If I encounter real soft ground, or uneven terrain, I want to anchor the targets as deep as I can.

  • Oh come on! Let the wind grab 'em, and you've got moving targets! Nobody is going to stand in one spot and let you shoot at 'em anyway, so consider it skill building! :-)

  • @HawkLMT Yeah, but the movement is so predictable - they just go flat down in the dirt... LOL!

  • Great idea!! I had been filling the front tube with sand and sealing it off. This is much faster....and less messy...lol. Thanks scout!!

  • Good stuff bro, those target holders are great. Have a good one.

  • Nice idea. cant tell u how many times i have to pick up targets.

  • Lots of rocks where i shoot. I just stack them on the base, this technique seem quicker than rock hunting. Thanks great idea.

  • have you used the anchors in softer stuff?

  • Great Idea!

  • I want to see the video of you laughing at the wind : )
