1987 Porsche 944, 1997 LT1 5.7L v8, patriot tight tuck headers modified into dual 3 inch exhaust that runs through a homemade x-pipe all the way out to dual flowmaster 50 series mufflers. Engine has an LS1 MAF, 4 inch intake tubing, BBK dual 58mm throttle body, fully ported intake, LT4 Hot Cam, Comp Cams 1.6 Chromoly Roller Rockers.

  • @xxEERIE13xx Thanks buddy! The mufflers are Flowmaster 50 series Delta Flow mufflers...nothing real special...I love the sound of it, but for space's sake i might end up moving to a dual in dual out magnaflow. For now i'm going to leaving it, but i do need to repair a couple parts of the system, for instance I ran one pipe over the axle and one under, which was fine for a while, but the upper pipe settled some and hits the axle sometimes now.

  • @bluehellfire666 I agree, the LS1 is pretty sweet! I had a z28 recently that I put a mild cam in and it made 360 to the wheels through stock manifolds, passed Ca emissions, and still got great fuel economy! Definitely an amazing engine.

    oh, sorry you have to put up with california auto laws! I'll put it this way, the LS1 is a better motor, period. That statement is based solely on the fact that the technology in that motor is better, which explains why the engine makes more horsepower stock than the lt1...the computer is more modern and easier to work with, and the ignition system is more reliable. But the LT1 is still an awesome motor, as long as you do it right the first time!

  • @bluehellfire666 Yeah the l33 was the original plan but they don't let us legally put truck motors in cars in california haha.

    The swap took me from early March to early July, so about 4 months. If you can, look at the L33 truck motor, it is an LS aluminum block, 5.3L instead of 5.7 and they're not too rare. I've seen them for around the same price as an assembled LT1 (800-1200 bucks). That often includes wiring harness and ecu and everything. You'll have to swap some parts out, but if i did my swap again, i'd do it with that motor. The LT1 is a good motor, but it has it's weaknesses!
