Right and Left are obsolete terms. The only thing I can't agree with him on is that the Democrats don't know what they're doing. He even says it about the Ronald Reagan and Bush Jr: they only ACT stupid so you ignore what they're ACTUALLY DOING (I'm paraphrasing). The Democrats are only there to serve as "proof" that government doesn't work. Sadly, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton are and were cruel hoaxes.

well, this was back in 2007. We have learn more since this last election. Right and left have shown that they are full of it. We the people have to make a stand.......

Anyway - a comment, at 30:27 and other spots in the talk, it reminded me of Reverend Jesse Jackson - the one thing he ever said that I am behind whole-heartedly, is his trying to make people understand - it isn't about left or right - it is about class. (the class struggle, etc)

The first part of this video is great, but the last part is nothing but right vs. left, Republican vs. Democrat nonsense. Like either party is really serving the people anymore. Notice he never mentioned when discussing Vietnam that it was started and scaled up when the Democrats had the White House. Korean War happened when the Democrats had the White House.

yeah, chomsky has a much better handle on that issue calling the parties, two factions of a single entity. chomsky also recognizes that imperialism does not operate via free markets even if empire likes to call them that, but that they are better described by the name 'state capitalism'. i'm also not too partial on the idea that labor unions can ever offer anything other than the illusion of autonomy. burn down the fucking factory and grow your own food, then and only then do you have autonomy.
