Rule#1, Don't fall into your own hole,Rule#2, Don't fall into your own hole, before making a comment, please read below:

Here is the deal: I could use a smartass desciption like the one above, or I could tell you how it was. This video was taken in the winter in Northern Alberta. The ground is frozen. The Dozer operator probably has more experience than anyone watching the video myself included, The excavator operator is young, but very good, he actually owns that 200 John Deere. He made a mistake and was sucked into (fell) into a hole he had dug for better dirt, it had been backfilled with slop, he can't turn around and lift himself out, he has no traction thats why a few logs were pushed under his tracks. The dozer has no winch but he did have a 120,000 pound tow strap...It was hooked on and the excavator was unstuck in less than 15 minutes with ZERO damage...so after reading this you still want to make a dumbass comment that shows how little you know about operating in Northern Canada, where good material to build roads is few and far between, then be my guest, I will not be responding to this video anymore, don't make me disable the comments section. Ever wonder why that happens?

  • How likely are you to throw a track in that kind of situation: no real connection to the ground, and the whole thing packed with muck and debris.

  • @themomaw Very likely, more so if the undercarriage is worn out
