    The bitter irony, eh?

  • I think its funny how games in mainstream media outlets are cast out as unnecessarily violent and lacking in any sophistication. Oh how wrong they are...

  • What an utterly beguiling and beautiful piece.

Interesting point of view. never looked at it that way. I wanted to feel like the ending is a result of many choices made along the way, even if the conclusion leads to the same result (makes sense since it's a prequel). I believe this way the impact would have been even larger. Exactly like it was with DX1 where endings seemed so different but once you started DX2 you realised they all actually happened and led to the same thing.

  • @mirceaneo I personally liked the "press of a button" motif. It may have seemed simplistic, but the feeling of momentary empowerment is what we all desire, but not really consider if we can live up to the responsibility.

Also the fact that although the setup gives a feeling of power, it is all a facade. Nothing can change events leading up to the ending.

Which leads to the perception of choice. Which, ultimately, is also fake.

And that is the most relevant theme in terms of today's politics.

The idea behind the ending is great. besides, it had to setup the scene for DX1. What it bothered me personally about the ending was the presentation. You just get in a room where you can press one of the four buttons to get one of the endings. The endins isn't as elaborate as it was in DX1 and 2 and it's a shame because the rest of the game is PERFECT!
