Kreasi Gender-Gusti Komin Darta

This is a short excerpt of I Gusti Komin's new composition for Gender Wayang. Komin, a former member of Sanggar Cudamani has nearly a decade of experience performing some of the most Bali's most complex new music. As of now, the piece is unfinished, but already demonstrates dizzying complexity. This excerpt, which is in 7 (listen for the 2+2+3 rhythm in the left hand of the left performer) , involves intricate interlocking patterns (kotekan) in both hands. I don't really know...komin (left) is playing polos with a 2+2+3 rhythm in the left hand and his brother just made up a sangsih for it which I believe fills in komins part (playing on the second subdivison of the 2s and subdivisions 2 and 3 of the 3) while also playing sangsih in the right hand!
