  • Out of all the wrecks I have seen personally. I would say the Joe Hawksby Sr wreck when his throttle stuck. That was one of the worst and he was very fortunate that they had foam blocks at the time. He hit that wall so hard the whole place went silent and there was nothing left of the foam he hit.

  • I NEED me some Doug Hevron! How about when ran that kid over in the pits in, what, '84 or '85 Classic?

  • Steve Gioia sr. is my uncle i've been goin to the speedway for as long as i can remember best times of my life

  • thx champ

  • wow wat a spectacle that must have been 20 years ago, when the supermodified as we know it today was just being formed nutz right there id have to say that would be better to watch than todays 70 grand cars

  • well now i guess we can all say that oswego speedway was way and i mean WAY ahead of nascars softwalls. they put that foam in YEARS before NASCAR even thought of SAFER barriers. so once again they make it llok like NASCARS the big deal when Your local track s where its at

  • The Steel Palace is one tough place to be sure.

I watch them today crash into the foam and shake my head. The days before the foam were nuts.

  • Hey This is a cool video. My father is the driver right in the begining ripping and throwing is equipment off. Its really cool. Plus my dad was really exicted when he see him self on a youtube vid. thanks for putting this out!
