Welcome!

This is the intro to my show, and the first installment of EricTheCarGuy. It will be a show covering all things automotive, some for the everyday person, some for the more experienced, no matter what the topic, I insist it will be entertaining, educational, and fun.

New installments on the way, so stay tuned. The best way to do that is by subscribing.

Also, you can submit questions and car problems to be answered on future shows as a text, or video response.

I'm still working on the website but you can visit it now by clicking here.

  • What is the difference between green, red, yellow, and pink antifreeze?

  • Can bypassing the heater core effect cooling efficiency at all? I don't want my car to over heat.

  • When replacing a bad fuel pump, how do you empty the gas tank before lowering the gas tank on vehicles that have an "anti-siphon" device? When the fuel pump is operational, I have seen people use the fuel pump itself to pump gas out simply by disconnecting one of the fuel hoses and cycling the ignition key on and off. However, with a completely non-operational fuel pump, how do you drain the gas tank before lowering it? Most gas tanks now have a device to prevent you from siphoning.

  • In the state of Pennsylvania, can they fail you for a leaking power steering hose? For state inspection?

  • Can hot spots on rotors be machined away? Or must you replace the rotors? Are hot spots merely a surface defect, or does it go into the metal and become a material defect?
