Some people think, it's ok to break the vows because they can do Vajrasattva to refresh or clean up the vows. But that is wrong thinking. The four prerequisites are necessary for a vow to be broken or not. If we break the vows for attachment and not disciplining ourselves, then Vajrasattva would not be much use. If we broke our vows without real intent or by slipping out of habit, then Vajrasattva will be helpful if we truly regret and add the four opponent powers.
Hence, I assigned David to give a talk on the importance of Bodhisattva vows which we will recieve during this particular initiation I am considering to confer. Please listen to this video and take notes. Learn the vows well.

@FingerLaserZ I agree with you that negative state of mind will affect our next rebirth. But I think at 16:12, he is talking about meditation (now) to be afraid of death, and not that we should be scared when we are dying. It is meant to say that we must think about and fear death every living moment, way before we are on our death bed, so that we take the opportunity to make our lives worthwhile by doing Dharma practice. What do you think?

" we should be scared when our last our comes?!" that is wrong information! read the Tibetian Book of the Dead where it states those emotions we have at the last moments effects our next life! fear is negativity! do'nt go there to that place! what is he saying?!

We can practice holding these vows for a short period of time first. Say a week or even a day ! We really need to practice holding these vows so that we'll be fully prepared when we do actually take them. Just like when I took pledges to be vegetarian a day a week. Then increased it to 2 days a week. Now I'm fully vegetarian. Btw you can take vegetarian pledges with Rinpoche's prayers and blessings from the kechara website.

How can I do that?

Though those are Bodhisattva Vows but they are practical "vows" for daily life. For example Vow#2 can be applied at workplace, when someone sincerely ask for help, then you should help. In the world that isn't related to religion, it's hard for us to access if the person is genuine needed help or with motivation. If we help them, the person may use the knowledge to do bad things in the future and will cause negative Karma to us in return. So, should Vow#2 means help "smartly" not blindly?
