10th annual March to Abolish the Death Penalty

Hundreds gather at the TX State Capitol to protest the Death Penalty. After so many people have been exhonerated it is unfathomable that this archaic practice still exists within our "justice" system. On Tuesday Oct. 27, 2009 Reginald Blanton will be murdered by the state unless Governor Rick Perry grants him a Stay of Execution. Call Governer Perry and tell him to stop this unconscienable practice today! Before another innocent person is murdered in your name.

people aren't put on death row because they're completely innocent

there's so much that goes into whether or not you can even ask for the death penalty

mistakes happen, and they always will. its not a perfect system. but i would rather have a monster die than for them to use up my tax dollars for 3 sq meals and a free gym.

if there are 138 exonerated death row prisoners, there are more that remain on death row for lack of decent legal representation. so we ARE killing innocent people with the death penalty.

additionally, it is less expensive to give a life sentence than a death sentence.

you may want to continue to spend MORE of your tax dollars to kill innocent people, but that makes you a murderer which is completely reprehensible.

BUT, there is NOTHING wrong with changing your mind.

I don't believe we should pay prisoners that work while in prison. They committed the crime and i'm paying to keep their sorry ass fed so why shouldn't they do some work?

Dear God. I pray that in the next 24 hrs Perry will have a change of heart. If not... I will do all I can to end the death penalty sometime in my life. If it's the last thing I do. I'm thinking about becoming a nun so I can make it a full time thing.

He was executed on MArch 23, 1993. He was not the singer but a young man from the Dominican Republic. He was my friend and I witnessed his execution. He was innocent of killing anyone and was convicted under Texas' Law of Parties.
