Yeah for the most part there weren't that many V8's until the mid 50's. Before then strait 6's were very common in vehicles large and small.

@JudgeSteelflax back in the 50's chevy used the 261 straight 6 to pull their full size school busses....and used the 350 to pull busses since the 60's

@SKARdaBASShead956 these trucks burn one side because they have an "open" differential that does not lock the 2 wheels at the same speed. the torque of the engine pulls the right tire off the ground in forewards, and the left off the ground in reverse

i have a 1979 GMC stepside thats the same color as this....just mines been painted solid, no stripes, and all the trim has been shaved....and it has no rust
-
haha the right tire spins goin forward and the left tire spins in reverse

agreed, 350's are my favorite engines because they can be in anything from a sports car to a school bus...to a box truck...to a bulldozer sometimes...gotta love that engine. They're strong as hell too, you can run them as hard as you want.
Updated video coming soon...

This truck has since been bought by my neighbour, who has done a great job fixing it up. It is now copper with 2 black racing stripes dowh the center, and NO rust! But it still has the original drivetrain and wheel/tire package. Looks beautiful. This is a classic GMC.
