In the 70s/80s enthusiasts were fitting V8 engines to Landys they then fitted coil springs to improve performance and ride, then the manufactures caught up and offered the very same. Enthusiasts are still at the front experimenting with suspension better engines and sub frames, manufacturers usually follow enabling Land Rovers to do even more than they were originally intended. Brilliant isn't it.
