Here is one of the University of California's 9 schools represented- Riverside, from the Big West Conference. It is quite funny that the shout, "GO BRAVEHEART!" would remind you of the movie that won academy awards. Though they are Highlanders, the mascot is a grizzly bear-just giving some Scottish flavor by wearing a tartan (don't think it wears a kilt. :) ) The song is not at all Scottish like Felix Bartholdy would do, but it is made specifically for the fans and students. Do note that you must slur these two areas: "Alma Mater near or far," and "UCR" to make the ending sound good.

  • @edgehringer almost x)

  • Is this not a takeoff on Stanford's "Come Join the Band"?

  • The mascot "Scotty" the bear, as in Scottish, will on occasion wear a kilt, more likely around homecoming. The school also has a large and very good Bagpipe band. Keeping with the "Braveheart" theme, the students paint half their faces, blue or gold as in the movie. Great school. GO BRAVE SCOTS!!
