Iran is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its revolution this month, a revolution which has imposed strict rules on culture. Government patronage is necessary for most artists to survive. Some agree that the government knows best on what to allow while others say that state control stifles artistic expression. Al Jazeera's Ali Reza reports from Tehran.

  • The muslim want to erase the Iranian culture, and they have managed that. Actually, American and European culture will now penetrate Iranian culture more easily because everything Iranian is now destroyed, because most of Iran's culture was non-islamic.
