O Holy Night is best sung in French, and this is the best version I have heard performed. Even with the technology back then you can tell Enrico Caruso had the most powerful upper register in Opera history. You can really feel those G's and B Flat in the end!

An extraordinary recording, yet, in my opinion, Thill, captured with better equipment is the finest- grand declamation by a native Frenchman with a stupendous voice! Thill's is one of the greatest recordings that I know- of anything. thank you for posting this superb recording.

@wattever333 Florez is a flea compared to Caruso. Could Florez reproduce the same sound on a mechanical 78 recordin system ?
