DeGette Questions Egg Producers

U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (CO-01) questions the DeCoster family and other Iowa egg producers about the recent Salmonella outbreak. DeGette is Vice-Chair of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and an original co-sponsor of the Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009, which passed the House with bipartisan support in July of 2009. In particular, DeGette is the architect of legislation designed to improve the traceability of our food network, and give the FDA mandatory recall authority.
