A group from the University of Michigan recently toured Michigan farms from which they purchase fresh, local food for their students in the dorms. Jane Bush of Apple Schram Farm in Grand Ledge organized the tour. The video was created for Sustainable Farmer.com
excuse me, desertundrwater, but you gotta start somewhere. this needs support as it evolves and works out the challenges. we all got to get off our arses and do something ourselves to make this whole movement an increasing reality. reality is seeing the whole picture, not just the imperfections. let's get this going in all schools, on all levels here in Michigan. Onward always.

ooo and I forgot...EGGS!!!!! they dont give us real eggs I love how they talked about that in the clip...when has anyone ever had solid yellow scrambled eggs, with no white in it whatsoever, they dye the "eggs"...many of my friends who work in the caf have told me about it, its really really gross, I dont know how they have the charisma to go and make a movie about 5 minutes of bs, sure they may buy ingredients locally but then they kill them when they try to "cook" them

soo much is wrong with this video, 1) WHEN HAVE YOU EVER SEEN STRAWBERRIES in the cafeteria? 2) if you call the people who "cook" chefs, then you have no palate what so ever 3) the budget are you serious... we pay 12 dollars for a horrible dinner every day 4) they talk about fruits this and that, but why has south quad put all the fruits behind the counter and make the students ask for it...cause they are cheap...please if you are thinking there is good food at the caf, dont, this is propaganda!
