It would seem a quite important document for any Western, let alone cosmopolitan, citizen to be aware of, this book. That Al Qaeda is so small is amazing; that Islamic peoples enjoy a more complete awareness of the international political milieu than Pentagon strategists is not so amazing; that the book seems hard, as yet, to get hold of, could be viewed either way.

@UNIVERSITYHI as for chomsky... no it is not suspect. there are very simple and plausible reasons why people abandon lost causes or don't entertain conspiracy theories. saying he would shroud himself in "big picture" makes me think you have either not read or listened to a lot he has said/written or you are just another typical 911-truther focusing so much on this one issue that everybody not agreeing with you on that is automatically a co-conspirator.
-
@UNIVERSITYHI it is the combination with the unsubstantiated slur that forms the picture. would you have written an extensive argument and that would have been the only misspelled word, it wouldn't have mattered. diet coke is also an odd choice of beverage for a critically thinking person.

@notthere83 Orthographic mistakes have absolutely nothing to do with basal intelligence, especially when you just spilled diet coke on your keyboard. Even Einstein made mistakes. The fact that Chomsky will not touch the Kennedy assassination or the physical events of 9/11 is highly suspect in terms of his legitimacy. He shrouds himself in "big picture" sorts of dialectic which makes it impossible to pin him down on any facts.

@UNIVERSITYHI how funny, just an hour ago, i got myself the truman show and will watch it later on... and only this week, i worked on something for a tv show where mk ultra was mentioned.
anyway... the point that you just made is one that chomsky also makes repeatedly. also regarding the controlled opposition. and having a different opinion does not make you a fool, no. but just throwing a slur out there with no arguments to back it up and unable to even spell it right makes you look like one.

@notthere83 There is no left in this country, you have to be able to see that. It is obvious that two centrists parties, whose centers have shifted to the right long ago, could possible represent over 350,000,000 (three hundred and fifty million) people. It is all Truman Show.
-
@notthere83 We do have a controlled opposition in this country. Google: The Mighty Wurlitzer or Operation Mockingbird, or MK Ultra (we paid Canadians in a court case for that one). Just because you don't agree with me does not make me a fool. That is a ad hominem attack. Do you really think that Weather Underground people like Ayers and Dorhn would cozy up to a right of center Democrat like Obama in the real world or did they just go soft?
-
@UNIVERSITYHI well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. i recommend you keep thinking and adhere to the good old proverb "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
it is "apparatchik", by the way.
Al Qaeda was trained very well.

@UNIVERSITYHI It's your hysteria that sees those people as "ultra left wing". You're gullible, that's all.
