  • I've heard quite a bit of Ray's period with BS throu YouTube, but never actually seen anything of RG in Sabbath before. So THANK YOU for this, & isn't RG such an amazing singer? what a waste! R.I.P Ray Gillen

  • Check the internet for the intire Black Sabbath "Eternal Idol" with Ray Gillen on vacals. You will be more amazed

  • Just got (today) a copy of Eternal with Gillen on the mic. Great stuff, saw him on the tour in 1986 in Portland Maine. WASP was the opener, great show.

  • GLORY RIDE ROCKS WITH GILLEN

  • This man is incredible!!!Fantastic voice!What a shame!!!

  • R.I.P. Ray ...

I own a audio bootleg of this gig, and he was simply ... awesome

Both on Dio's and Ozzy's songs ... it's such a shame that a talented singer like him couldn't achieve what he deserved ... Badlands album nowadawys are really rare ...

  • oops, I mean, this song is from the Seventh Star album, and it was Glenn Hughes , the bassist from Deep Purple, singing on it, not Ray. But Ray sounds just like Glenn on this, he sings it amazingly well.

  • Yes, Ray sings these songs well, but it wasn't his voice on the Eternal Album, it was Deep Purple's bassist Glenn Hughes who sang on it.

  • RAY GET'S ALL CAP'S.!!!!!!!HAPPY TO HAVE SEEN HIM LIVING WITH BADLANDS!

  • Extraordinario! Muy buen material de la epoca de Gillen!!!

  • @angelpriest where is this eternal idol cd? it's nowhere

  • @angelpriest get the deluxe edition. it comes with a second disk w ray on vocals live.

  • @angelpriest Wow so they made 2 versions of eternal idol. I have a copy on cassette and Tony Martin is the singer. I will have to look for the other version I dig Ray Gillen's vocals and was a big fan of him with Jake E Lee in Badlands.

  • For me, Glenn Hughes sounds like a cat with a tail stuck in the door. Ray is clear and high and easy understandable. Ray could sing the phone book and it'd be likable, just a natural gift.

  • @angelpriest I've got a bootleg version of the demos that sound just as good as the remastered version that was just released with the Eternal Idol Deluxe Edition.

  • @leppardsnake well yes, I don´t mean Hughes is bad, NEVER, I just guess Gillen ´s voiice made the song there sound better... regardless Glenn´s condition at the time.

    Cheers!!!!
