So this one is about Tim, who is neurotic and controlling, and today he has decided his basement is controlled by Texas so that he can't control anyone. And this girl named Beth, who is extremely clingy and emotional over her ex, Jonas, came into the basement and called Tim weird... not a good choice.

  • I've seen three performances of this monologue on YouTube, and yours is the best. Although, if you're open to some critical feedback, I would say that you are rushing it a lot. And yes, I understand that he's "exploding" with anger, but there doesn't seem to be any thought process. It looks very much like a guy who's memorised a speech. Also, at the end, you need to think of your surroundings. You're in a basement full of other people, yet you didn't look at any of them. Take time to think :)

  • @LightShiningBright Thanks for the feedback, I'm planning on going through these monologues and maing them better at some point, but I just haven't gotten around to it.

I'll make sure to keep that in mind for the future.

    Thanks a bunch ! :D

  • Nice video - but you need to credit the writer - this monologue is from a play called "It Came From Texas" by Josh Weckesser.

  • @kellrai Thank you! I forgot to put down the authour's name! THanks for reminding me! xD

  • I've decided to use this monologue fr an audition for college. Quite enjoyed it, although I would have played it somewhat more explosive and overbearing. I was wondering, do you have the entire script saved on the computer? I'm kinda looking for where to find it and it seems one cant get it for free..

  • NOT THAT IT ISN'T GOOD! It's good I'm just trying to give a little feedback!

  • Okay so I realize you posted this like a long time ago but I'd just like to say that this seems a little forced. Like they say "your technique is showing". You can tell that you're acting and that's generally not the desirable effect. Do you have any internal actions you associated when doing this? Or was it purely objective?

  • Someone likes Heath Ledger.
