Kim & Opal: Eric Horgan Clinic August 11th & 13th

Ok so I did an Eric Horgan Clinic with Opal. Flat and Cross Country.
Flat: Ok so right when my lesson started they took Hamlet back to the barn so she started being super speedy and wouldn't listen. It was also thundering, lightning, and pouring rain and it was her first time ever in an indoor. So during the warm up I couldn't even canter her she was being too crazy. I don't have any videos of that. Eric was mainly having us work on bending. Opal was ok at the beginning. Then he had us come into the middle and he did some leg yielding. As you can see she was not too happy with him. My mom didn't get all of it but she tried to bite and kick him. First he wanted her on the bit and then he wanted her to move away from the whip when he tapped her on the leg. He had to hit her harder cause she was ignoring him. After the leg yielding she was 100% better at bending and so much more willing! So now I do that everytime before I ride and sometimes after.
Cross Country: She did awesome. Eric had me work on using my legs less and just going with her. I did the leg yielding before the lesson and she got so mad at me and bucked! I was EXTREAMLY PROUD of her for going over the houses cause they are BIG! There are no videos or pictures but we went down to the water jump and we jumped in & out of the water! So proud of her it was our first time jumping in and out. Eric said she was the star of the lesson. =)
