the music is by Avanea, you can get the complete song for free and legally at jamendo the album name is color, the song title is rouge click here to go at jamendo: http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/28947

showing the effect of interpolating keyframes in daz using predefined curves (instead of, say, Catmull-Rom splines )

newer versions of daz studio do enact splined interpolation, this can make some animatin tasks difficult -- if you're a daz animator, search the forums for SetInterpolation, and you should find the script i wrote that sets the inetpolation applied between keyframes: linear/ stepped, splined

  • More minute control?

  • it helps make movements more natural, when a part of a body moves from one position to the next, less robotic.

  • I use only Bryce demos ,since 1999 ! And know all the tricks and other 'helpful' programs to make it take off ,[be off the wagon ?].

  • neato!

  • it's a daz-script, a .ds file - if you save an animation as a pose preset, under the name test.ds, then you open test.ds in wordpad or notepad, you'll see that it's a series of instructions. the language it's written in is similar to java and C++. a simple daz script would be : Scene.setFrame( 30 ), if you save this as test.ds and drag and drop it onto daz studio, the timeline cursor will jump to frame 30

  • Cool. The DAZ|Studio timeline on its own is woeful.

Keypolator will be a plugin, I guess.

  • lets say you have a car with a keyframe at position 0 Km at time = 0 sec and another keyframe at position 60km at time = 1 hour, Daz renders this as : you car starts moving at 60km per hour instantaneously, keeps rolling at 60km/h and at time = 1hour it instantaneously stops. with one of Keypolator's curves, the same two keyframes, you can get the car to start moving slowly, accelerate, decelerate and stop. When applied to human movements it makes them look less robotic
