as a student of history I never read that India was a country its brits who united them even mughas, Ashoka, pritivi Raj and so never called it India, all the regions which now you and prviously brits choose to call india were recognized themselves as Bengalies Punjabies and so on, please do let me know where in any books it was mentioned as India, finally India word came from the word Indus the river which does not flow in india anymore
I agree Brithish choose to call it India and remember before them it was never a single counrty the concept of a country came about in the 1800 century and the people of what you choose to call it India were actually the people of Bengal, Hindustan (previous name for UP) Punjab and that is how these people use to call themselves as they are mentioned in Geeta as well. People of Indus (India) lived in what is now know as Pakistan, think and research about it
@MrCitizenaction you made punjab and bengal divided. india is a vast country with current day pakistan, nepal, srilanks, bangladesh, (i don't know about bhutan, afghanistan) may be even they are part of india i think. those countries exists means just becoz of good hearts of indians. may be britishers catch the sensitve issue and i feel responsbile by them.
@MrCitizenaction of course punjab is a part of india before. and now it is divided indian punjab and pakistan punjab. don't ever divide north and rest of india. we love to say India. in that north, south, east, west exists like that. what do you know abt indian history? it looks like you are a paksitani and saying all civilization is pakistans? thats not true remeber you once a part of india.
@sabisro86 silly it was not India which is divided it was a long difference of north and the rest, only Punjab is divided see it on the map, secondly India is from the word Indus river and its civlization this does not exist in present day India
