I've been chasing this track for about a quarter of a century! I was really thrilled to come across it here. I first saw The Dubliners in a wonderful concert in the Manchester Free Trade Hall in 1964. Good on ya dubliner85!

Awesome song! I sing this to my little girl almost every night before bedtime and she loves it.
The copy owned by my parents (MMLP14) was in pathetic shape from hundreds, if not thousands, of plays since 1968. I recently bought a used copy in tolerable condition from a UK outfit and digitized it. I'll keep looking for a mint copy just to be able to get a pristiine digital transfer of 'The Herring'. Great LP!!

Thanks for posting - I too was looking for this for a long time. Never heard the Dubliners do it, but did hear Noel Carroll singing it in O'Donoghues (with the 2 naughty verses, which the Dubliners left out)

just seen this and drop of the hard stuff on LP in a shop about to close. waiting for the price to drop. i have them but they are worn out, bought them in late 60s early 70s.
