@docmalthus Thanks!Knew he had to be an ex boxer.....too real. Sorry to pick your brain, any more info about Greb? He was so impactful, like the leeches in AFRICAN QUEEN. Must've lost a lot of fights.....

My favorite part of this great film? @ 1:35:40 where
Bogart: "Why did he take that awful beating? Why didn't he fight like you told him to?"
Wolcott: "Some guys can sell out, and others just can't!"
A perfect answer to Elia Kazan and Budd Shulberg and those who named names to the House Un-American Acts Committee!

"Except in this case: 'The smaller they are!' The best character 'Bogie' ever played in my POV."

@wendyverdades *You talk, but I boxed, middle weight,I was young and strong,a bull.I would gladly take three to the head,to deliver my combos,I didn't even feel it.I was 20 years old. Today I'm 66,still in good shape, eat right, and exercise. But for the past 22 years my ears ring 24 hours a day, every day.The doctor said I took to many shots to the head.I can live with it.Some other guy with the same thing, let it drive him nuts,he shot himself in the head. The fool.Oh yeah, they can't stop it.

@wendyverdades *He's Punchy,is what they say.And Boxing in the past had few regulations and did destroy as you put it.NOT Today, over the years as more men were hurt, the Boxing Commission's Rules changed. After a death in the ring in the 60's or 70's,Benny'the kid' Perrett.I think. The rule is to STOP the fight,if one is hurt too much, today they are very careful.NO more destruction.

How boxing destroys the mind at 49.05. A nice man who could have been something beat to mental destruction. They called it "PUNCHed OUT". Promoters have a name for it so they know boxing destroys.

27.00is a great attempt by Hollywood to show the dammage done to the brain by boxing.
IT's like shaking a baby. Even if you wear head gear you're not supposed to JOstle your brain that much that often. That little clip was so brave.
