  • @OliverLewis09 Great Britain has no national anthem, the United Kingdom does.

  • God save our gracio- wait, that's not the british flag! o_0

Thumbs up if you, like me, and like the person who made the top comment, came here because of Hetalia, (because you wanted to see if the anthem joke was true) and now really want to see a video of the actual events at that football match just to see the confused-as-hell expressions of the footballers xD

  • @easecv3 Great Britain has no national anthem because it is not a nation; it is simply a landmass. The UK is a sovereign state and so has a national anthem: 'God Save the Queen'. Wales and Scotland also have their own national anthems ('Hen Wlad fy Nhadau' and 'Flower of Scotland' respectively) while England and Northern Ireland use 'God Save the Queen'. There is a movement, however, for England to have its own national anthem with 'Jerusalem' and 'Land of Hope and Glory' as leading contenders.

  • @easecv3 Incorrect. Great Britain is simply the main island of the United Kingdom. It includes the mainland of England, Scotland and Wales. It does not include their offshore islands (e.g. the Isle of Wight, the Shetlands, Anglesey) nor Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is a part of the island called Ireland, which also includes a separate country called the Republic of Ireland. Hence why the UK's proper name is 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.'

  • @BreninBoncyn Are you serious?!?! Great Britain is the same as the United Kingdom!! Doughnut!! I think you meant England doesn't but UK does!

And before you ask or comment back... Great Britain = Northern Ireland England Wales and Scotland ... United Kingdom = Northern Ireland England Wales and Scotland ;)

  • What a SHITE TUNE. it reminds me of a certain tune that the nasty country next door to mine uses.

  • Greetings from Czech republic

  • God save Liechtenstein LOL

  • @IAmCaptainMarvel I think you should still apologize, though. You have a weird sense of humor and it's true your words insulted some people (including me, I must say, because while I think you were joking about "the real way" to find out about Liechtenstein, you shouldn't have brought Hetalia, a piece of work which many people love, into this). Just saying. I also think you meant faggot in the mean way, but now you're just trying to be a smart ass.

  • @IAmCaptainMarvel Ding Dong! You Pass!

Alright, for starters I was joking, calm down, second, I wasn't insulting Liechtenstein, I didn't say a thing wrong about Liechtenstein, you'd have to be pretty paranoid to read "touched that their anthem is God Save the Queen like the UK" as an insult.

Third, again, I was joking. And finally, no I don't know the definitive, Anglo-Saxon origins of "faggot" if that's what you're asking, but I know faggot is a type of food, and it's also a term for a bundle of sticks.
