  • And you forgot to say how to rotate the work grid where the things are outlined and build

  • Johny,

The reference plane tools are located in the bottom left corner of your project window -- between the perpendicular to reference plane icon and the grid snap...

The manual is also integrated into the program, so if you just hold down the SHIFT key and click on any tool, it will open the manual to the appropriate page...

  • Is there any other ways to draw the source so that the program stops annoying me with boring things like "Source shape picked crosses the axis of revolution and blah blah.."

    (Did I miss something?)

Well I've tried not to cross any axis (Z,Y,X..)

and build a small square between Z and Y...please be more specific and reply ASAP.

  • Johny,

If your source shape crosses the axis of revolution, then the resulting revolve would have crossing faces -- which would be bad geometry, which is why it is not allowed. Perhaps if you try drawing your 2d rectangle from a top view you can make sure that it is not crossing the axis, and then you can get the proper result?

If you have any further trouble, please send a screen capture of what you are trying to do to support (at) formz (dot) com so we can help.

  • Thanks a bunch! But the revolve thing didn't quite work...

I've drawn million times the "source" but the stupid program... keeps telling me that I'm doing something wrong! You've probably forgot to add that there's some limits with the axis thing.Like.. crossing the axis is not allowed rofl ..

  • Johny,

Right, you are not allowed to have the source shape cross the axis as noted in the error message. Please see our other answer above for more details.

  • Thanks man!You've helped a lot.

Now I've got it...but I'm kinda beginner (and you're pro) with this program so that's why I've written so many questions here.

    I will subscribe immediately!
