Amazing song.....and pretty easy to play on the guitar. I just picked up my acoustic here and started playing along. The bulk of the song is just A and B....changing to E on the ' On a day like to today like today' line. Theres a D in there too.....try it yourself because its easy tp play and easy to sing.....and a minor masterpiece!

I bought this CD back when it came out and loved this song especially. I took a songwriting class with Steve Earle in Chicago a few years ago. Too bad I didn't realize the connection, otherwise I would have asked him about it. This song is timeless.

Glad you like it. The original (full band) version is on the album Eureka by Boo's old band, The Bible (album now available on CD). It is a great song and I love the acoustic version.
