@Navy1348 Yeah it's for sure since end of june this year. The FIA had also already published the 2014 technical Regulations on there webpage. They will probably tweak it a bit until 2014, but the principals stay.
They first discussed to use Straith-4 Turboengines, but especially Ferrari and Cosworth don't liked this suggesteion, because a Straith-engine would have some drawbacks in a Formulacar.

@shi01 Are they for sure moving to turbo 1.6's? I heard that was just a maybe. Unless its recently changed and im not paying attention haha
-
if i tweek this bolt and turn that screw 14.3 degrees....i can squeeze out another 300hp from this engine

@alihmcm air pressure system is normally 180 to 200 BAR.

@ReveretheHood Direct fuel injection is banned by regulation till 2014 when they change to 1.6L V6 Turboenginges. The High revs wouldn't be realy such a big problem for a direct injection system.

That's fuel folks. I wonder why they wouldn't use direct cylinder injection? Maybe because of the RPM's/detonation? I too would love to see how the valve train works @ 18K R's. I do know that when they test these engines they use telemetry from the last race at whatever track their setting up for. So that engine is "racing" the actual course for which it is being set up. Cool stuff.

What I'd like to know is how the pneumatic valves operate. They must have massive air pressure to force, what is it, 4 valves per cylinder x is it 10 cylinders at friggin 18000 rpm plus, that would be each valve opening and closing 150 times a second, right? I suppose they keep a tight lid on the design of their valves or something, but does anyone have any animations or video of the valve operation on these? I can't find it on youtube.

@w0lf65 I would say 10 throttle bodies for this particular engine.

Music to my ears am a McLarenf1 fan but this i like :)
what is being sprayed into the intake ? is that just the fuel ? i'm not an f1 technician or anything.

@circa2football yep that is just the fuel. You can see an injector spraying fuel into each intake runner

@w0lf65 I've been looking at this, how are they controlling the revs? Throttle body at each cylinder?

@RomeoReject23 yep 8 throttle bodies - one per cylinder
