This has actually happened to a friend of mine. The stress caused and later the embarrassment of attending another doctor to rectify the problem is really acute.

I think not - that's what the discussion is about. It's frightening to think that one can attend a doctor, believing them qualified in the field, and later find they have little or no experience.
