  • I'm sorry for all the questions, but I'm just starting to get back into building gunpla after stopping 10 years ago. Do you airbrush indoors and are you using a spray booth? Thanks again.

  • @ndawg202 Great to hear you're returning to this great hobby, I personally took a long break from gunpla myself and found that I now have more patience than before which I'm delighted about.

I do airbrush indoors, however I have not yet set up a spray booth but I will definitely set one up at some stage, in the mean time I just make sure all the windows & door are open fully (fortunately I have a very large window in my work area) and do wear a mask.

  • Do you also pre-shade the inner frame?

  • @ndawg202 I only pre-shade the parts that can be seen, joints etc...

  • Do you use flat, semi gloss, or gloss paint?

  • @ndawg202 It matters very little to me with regards to the finish of the paint as I will topcoat it flat at the end anyway.

  • @neofushion thanks for your comments. how much paint you need depends on the model, if you're building a MG RX-78-2, you'll need a bottle of white paint and only small amounts of red, blue & yellow and maybe half bottle of grey. you only really need to purchase extra bottles if you're building a PG or a large MG like Ex-S gundam.

  • Great vid - thanks for taking the time to make it! Am curious, how much bottles of paint would you recommend for a HG and MG scale?

  • @jiminboo that sounds like an interesting technique, almost like post-shading. I believe you have to use many different shading technique depending on the color used. must do some experimentation.

  • I really enjoy your videos, keep 'em coming! I use a slight variation of your preshade technique. I apply base color coat after primer, then line edges, then blend with base coat again. Nice work!
