@ToSeeThingsClear They measure the back of the wave. So a 4ft wave would have a 12ft face. Thats just the y way the guys calling it 50 years ago set it up and how they still judge it today in Hawaii...birth place of surfing.

That guy in the beginning was about right, I'd sat max. ten foot faces. In Hawaii that's about 3-5 local scale. Here you'll see chicks and kids ripping this size stuff regularly.
