I made this to hopefully help anybody out that is looking at installing LED dash lights in their Jeep Wrangler. I used help mainly from Wranglerforum.com, but a lot of the install was through trial and error.

I'm not sure anybody will actually view this, but if you do:
A. I'm from Texas, I can't do anything about the accent.
B. This was shot in the middle of the night in my garage, at times I'm extremely tired.
C. I'm obviously not a professional, so correct terminology, spelling, etc aren't my strong suits.
D. This was all shot on my iPhone, sorry if the quality is not the best.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

My next projects are installing the jeep skypod & Smittybilt SRC bumper & tire carrier.

  • The dash lights are the only place that I have not replaced the bulbs with LEDs on my 2011 Call of Duty Rubicon.

Where can I get the info for a dash tear down and the number and kind of bulb replacements?

    Thanks!

  • @macman1138 I would normally tell you to go to google and type in "sylvania bulb finder" and then send you to superbrightleds; but after reading a bit on wranglerforum and jeepforum I'm not really sure you can change your bulbs in the JK dash, without major modification.

So my answer is, I'm not really sure, but from what I've found I don't think you can.

ps - your jeep is awesome, the call of duty JKs are on point.

  • @BoBoin615 No prob man. Its the 921-x12 from superbrightleds website, they won't let me post the link in the comments, so I shot u a message. Good luck.

  • are the NEO4-B equivilent to the #74 from autolumination? i want to order from superbrightleds for my clusters aswell

  • @Newt0040 I don't think so, they are 74-xHP for the cluster & NEO-4 for the HVAC/Wiper/Defrost & NEO-3 for the on/off light of the defrost switch.

If you go to Google.com and type in 'TJ Dash Lights Mod. Easy and Cheap!'; the first result is a forum strand on wranglerforum that should give you all the info you need.

Let me know if that helps.

  • @willybti awesome lots of help thanks man i guess a CD deck is next i havent seen or heard of anyone replacing the lights for the CD player have you?

  • @Newt0040 No prob. I have never heard of anyone replacing those lights. I would imagine you would have to pull it out and take the housing off to see if you could identify them. The lights in mine actually went out, which is partly why I went to an aftermarket; as well as I wanted more power to the speakers when the top was down.

  • well done!

  • @willybti

I have had a lot of people give me a lot of crap and static because I take very good care of the only new Jeep I have ever had because I want it to last me at least 10 to 12 years.

They seem to think it's not a real Jeep unless it's coated with mud, dented, some of the paint skinned off of it.

I say they don't know the value of a dollar.

I saw on the JK forums that the bulbs on the late model JKs are LEDs soldered to the board, so there's no way to change them.

    I guess I'm good then.

  • @willybti

Well that's what I did for everything except the LED headlights. The first ones I did were the front dome lights, which simply plugged in and then I got the 32-LED board for the rear cargo area. Superbright sent me the wrong connector, so I improvised and all worked well.

The replacement bulbs they came up for the front turn signals were too long, so I chose another type with the same connector.

The Call of Duty looks sharp inside and out with the LEDS.

  • Im wantin to do the under dash lighting and my dome i found the dome but im having trouble finding the under dash lights can u post the direct link to them please ??

  • Awsome video! I will do the same to mine

  • @willybti iactually bought a used aftermarket one aswell i started this project because i dont have much money to spend on the jeep right now but had an urge to do something so the LEDs should come in soon i went with blue aswell and my buddy is going to install green in his
