Spyware infections seem to be getting worse rather than better for Windows users. Newer computer users seem to be drawn into the myriad of ads dotting (sometimes dominating) web sites.

In this video, I teach some techniques for better searching and downloading to save your computer from the scourge of malware.

  • If you use Ad-block Plus for Firefox it will block most common ads. Very useful and keeps pages clean.

  • Good point...but as I mention in the video, this is for those beginners who have no clue how to download, have no idea what Firefox is and thus have no idea what a plugin is let alone use them. Ad-block is a nice product, though.

  • I don't think so, I'd just stop using IE and get Firefox. It's all free and better.

  • I just got a Trojan, from just downloading an image off google images. McAfee got it though. But it messed up my WMM, changed the size.

  • Is there any tools for Internet Explorer that can prevent ads such as the Ad-Block Plus for FireFox?
