In the previous video, we got a pleasant surprise in the form of an ex-C&O B30-7. Now, to most people, that would be plenty cool. However, withing 5 minutes of taking some pictures, I outdid myself. Q409 calls for a nearby signal. That means a southbound manifest is upon us in a matter of moments. We then hear him call the nearest, which is basically a mile north of our location. For the first 95 cars of the train, there is really nothing too interesting of note, outside of an old SCL covered hopper and an 8 axle flat car. However, what came next really blew my mind; the ENTIRE Massachusetts Call Volunteer Firefighters Association Safety Train, which includes the bay window caboose, three tank cars, a box car, an old NJT Comet I slider, a wash board sided coach, an old Gallery bi-level car, and two more old NJT Comet I sliders (all used for training purposes), and the real gem of the consist, the CSX Police engine, which is 7764, which is an old U36B. The engines for Q409 are SD70MAC 4811 and AC44CW. Enjoy the extremely good fortune I had of not only seeing the B30-7, but also seeing the U-Boat on the rear of Q409. I can't remember the last time I had such extreme good luck anywhere else in terms of freight sightings. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on August 15th, 2009.
