I have lots of videos to share of Marilyn McCoo singing covers, duets and more from her Solid Gold years. Hope my fellow McCoo fans enjoy them! I've always thought that Marilyn's voice is amazing, and she handles a variety of styles with such finesse... here's Marilyn singing three big Natalie Cole hits with Natalie herself, on Solid Gold in the mid-80's. Duet arranged and produced by Solid Gold's musical director, Michael Miller.

  • whu do people post this kind of stuff, i would never post someones worst. this is natalies worst.

  • Sorry about that! I'm a fan of Marilyn McCoo, I didn't know Natalie's career well enough to know that this was a low point. As many have commented, Natalie overcame and went on to an even finer career... Regardless, I kinda liked the duet and thought they sounded all right together...!

  • Great vintage footage, although they are out of key on some of those notes. Listen to the orignal recordings or Natalie circa 1978 and see what I mean. This is the period when Natalie Cole was really going through that substance abuse issue(1982/early 83), I remember it well. I can hear it in her singing, she is barely singing and in and out of key. She phoned in this performance, but that was then. She is once again a great singer and wonderful talent..great Marilyn too.

  • Yeah, you can hear some of the intonation problems on the last song "This Will Be". I wasn't sure if it was the harmonies that Marilyn's singing, or Natalie, or what... still, a great duet. And Marilyn does great with "I Got Love on My Mind".

  • Natalie Was Clearly HIGH AS A KITE

  • @mccoofan It takes a big person to admit they were wrong. I commend you for that. Also, Natalie may have been singing "down" to Marilyns level a bit. I am a HUGE fan of Ms McCoo. She has been and remains one of the classiest pure singers of all time. But there is a limit to her range and style.

  • Maybe I am too easy to get a long with, don't know but I am glad you posted this and these ladies sound great. Why everyone gets so hung up on a few bum notes is beyond me.

  • Yes, Natalie turned it around, but what about that poor heifer Whitney. She sounds like a werewolf with laryngitis!! Leave that mess alone!

  • Wow ! Great ☆☆☆☆☆

  • I mean Natalie acknowledges her past and embraces it... Read her book and watch the movie...Both are brilliant.. I mean this is pretty much public video........ Its made Natalie stronger.. I am a big fan and this does not bother me...It just shows you what drugs can do..

  • OMG I have never seen Natalie this bad! I have always been a die hard Natalie Cole fan ever since I was a lil girl, I mean I truly idolized her. But during that time I was so young I really didn't understand or even know what she was going through. This is the absolute worst performance I have ever seen of Nat. She doesn't even sound much like herself! Sometimes u have to look back at hard times to appreciate how far u come! I thank God Natalie overcame! Still love you Natalie!

  • Marilyn is always wonderful! I love Natalie also but she seems off in this performance! Maybe she just getting better with age.

  • Classic, duet.

  • Wow this is tough to watch ... this was when she really was at one of her bad points with the drugs, and she's admitted this. Damn. It's alright though, she turned it around.
