"Babe" Paley was an American socialite and fashion editor for Vogue. She was on the best-dressed list fourteen times before being inducted into the Fashion Hall of Fame in 1958.
Her personal, unconventional style was enormously influential and continues to be so to this day.
"Babe Paley had only one fault," commented her one-time friend Truman Capote. "She was perfect. Otherwise, she was perfect."
Great to see this short and very worthy tribute to Babe Paley. Thanks for posting. She was a strikingly beautiful woman, a fashion icon but despite style and fortune, true happiness eluded her and she died tragically just after her 63rd birthday. Wonderful to see her remembered.
