When you're teaching expansionism, Mexican American War, Oregon Territory, the administration of the 11th president of the USA, James K Polk, you might find (and your students will enjoy) this history song helpful in getting down in a fun way the main facts about this moment in American history. (With apologies to They Might be Giants)

  • James K. Polk is one of the best presidents of all time

  • James Polk will be rememebered for the Mexican American War and the expansion of the country's territory. And an equally important note: He is the man of business in the front, party in the back! He is the man that pioneered the mullet, a great and versatile haircut when done right!

  • My US History teacher put this into his actual lecture. I have never loved history more :D
