  • As a parent of a pediatric bipolar child, thank you for doing the research...we live in a chronic state of teaching people about this!

  • I didn't take it as using imaging to diagnose bipolar, but that their scans are consistent with scans of people with bipolar (diagnosed with the DSM-IV).

  • To begin, I'm curious if you have ever read anything by Dr. Peter Breggin, or the new book "Bipolar Children" by Sharna Olfman? Your comment that alludes to the fact that brain scans, i.e. fMRI, PET, etc. can somehow be used for diagnosis is misinformed. For more information on the limitations of brain-imaging techniques I suggest you consult the work of Grace Jackson.
